HOME: Mapping the Stories of Redfern

by Story Factory Youth Authors

Interviews combine with fictional pieces and neighborhood anecdotes all centered around the community of Redfern (where one of Story Factory's centers is based.) Learn about the history of rail, working people, and public housing, as well as the lives of residents today. Hear about diversity, parks, rugby, indigenous rights, and what it means to truly be home.

— Simon Traub-Epstein, International Library of Young Authors

From the publisher: “HOME is the result of a community writing project about Redfern and its surrounding communities, run by the Sydney Story Factory throughout 2013 and 2014. Long-term residents, newcomers, young and old were asked what makes Redfern so special to them. The book contains poems, conversations, anecdotes and interviews, with contributions from the Governor of New South Wales, Professor Marie Bashir, Lord Mayor Clover Moore, Nathan Merritt, Sol Bellear and dozens of young people who have something they’d like to share about this special community.”
