More than a Book

by Write Around Portland Community Authors

Write Around Portland believes that anyone can be a writer. In that vein, they work with schools, prisons, youth shelters, senior citizen centers, and more. In this anthology, work from youth authors sits comfortably side-by-side with authors of all ages in the Portland community. This special 10th anniversary edition contains tales and poetry about coffee, rain, knitting, 1986, and a magic box.

— Simon Traub-Epstein, International Library of Young Authors

From the publisher: “In the course of a Write Around Portland workshop, people write together, share their stories, and offer feedback. The workshops culminate in the publication of an anthology like this one, and community readings where participants share their rich and challenging stories with the broader public. More Than a Book is the 31st anthology of our workshop participants' writing and the last anthology of our 10th anniversary year. It features a special introduction written by acclaimed author Dave Eggers.”
