P.S. You Sound Like Someone I Can Trust

by 826CHI Youth Authors

62 teens—half in 8th grade and half in 10th—partner up and share a series of letters back and forth. Paired by shared interests, these students reflect on Presidential elections, proud parents, sports, freedom, birthdays, surgeries, and all other aspects of the teenage experience. With 149 in total, watch how these letters evolve back and forth over time as these students increasingly build relationships with each other.

— Simon Traub-Epstein, International Library of Young Authors

From the publisher: “Within this collection of correspondence between 8th graders at Emiliano Zapata Academy and 10th graders at Amundsen High School, 62 teens reflect on their identities, share their hopes and anxieties about the future, open up about loved ones' deaths, and swap K-Pop and Netflix recommendations. P.S. You Sound Like Someone I Can Trust reminds us that meaningful human connection begins and ends with storytelling; by speaking with bravery and vulnerability and listening with empathy.”
