The Hours

by Rose Schreier

A photographic exploration into Santa Cruz, California seen through all hours of the day. View animals, laying down on grass, gazing into mirrors, oceans, and freeway signs.

— Simon Traub-Epstein, International Library of Young Authors

From the publisher: “I love horror and scariness, especially in photography. Originally this book was supposed to be a commentary on fear. But as the pictures started to take shape, the story they crafted was not full of fear. It was full of long beaches, tall trees, golden hours, and frolicking around on the beach. For me, that’s not very scary. It’s more of an influencer’s Pinterest board. But nonetheless, this series of photographs showed me how even the messiness of the telephone wires, the fog, and the cold ocean all culminate into this atmosphere that I proudly call home.”
