Umläut 2026
by Umläut Young Authors
Many books in the ILYA are written by youth, but far fewer are entirely put together by them too. Each year a fresh cohort of Ruth Asawa School of the Arts students takes up the reins to curate, edit, and publish this literary and artistic magazine. To get the full experience, make sure to attend their next launch party also put on by the student editorial team! This year's issue features elephants, an ethnically ambiguous grandmother, cribbage, sculpture, beaches, and panic attacks.

From the Website: "Umläut is an arts journal for emerging writers, photographers, filmmakers, visual artists, and musicians, run out of the Ruth Asawa School of the Arts Creative Writing department, in San Francisco. It was recognized for excellence as a literary magazine by the National Council of Teachers of English in 2013. It is our mission to gather the works from developing artists, and bring them to a wider audience.”
