Umläut Volume 1, Issue 2
by Umläut Young Authors
While the Umläut staff write that, "there is still no meaning in Umläut," do not let this warning keep you away. If the collection as a whole really does not say anything, trust that each of these dozens of written and artistic works do. Read a deep philosophical exploration into a TV or a bus, fear the Master of War, learn that history does repeat, or see shadows checker a stone staircase.
— Simon Traub-Epstein, International Library of Young Authors
From the Website: "Umläut is an arts journal for emerging writers, photographers, filmmakers, visual artists, and musicians, run out of the Ruth Asawa School of the Arts Creative Writing department, in San Francisco. It was recognized for excellence as a literary magazine by the National Council of Teachers of English in 2013. It is our mission to gather the works from developing artists, and bring them to a wider audience.”
